Hannah Myers (she / her) is an award-winning Actor, Director, and Filmmaker, bred in the Carolinas and based in New York City. She prefers to take all meetings around a late night bonfire.
Hannah is a 2023 BAVC MediaMaker Fellow as well as a Telluride Film Festival Symposium alum and annual staff member. Her films have received support from The Gotham (IFP), DOC NYC, Southern Documentary Fund, Mountainfilm, Tanbark Pictures, Out on Film, The Kenan Institute, OUT at the Movies, The LearningTimes Foundation, and Yaddo and screened at festivals worldwide. With roots in the theater, Hannah has worked closely on new play development with Lincoln Center, Atlantic Theater Company, Soho Rep., SITI Company, The Bushwick Starr, Ensemble Studio Theater, 3DaysPrior, and Gibney Dance Center among others. She was a 2023 Artist-in-Residence with Arts on Site and The Cabins Residency. Most recently, Hannah directed the short film REST (The Bushwick Starr) and co-starred in FBI: Most Wanted (CBS). She is currently in production on her first feature documentary film, DADDY (‘23 BAVC MediaMaker Fellowship, ‘22 Gotham Week, ‘22 DOC NYC Roundtables).
Hannah also works closely with arts and culture nonprofits including solutions journalism magazine Reasons to be Cheerful founded by David Byrne, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and SPACE on Ryder Farm. Co-Founder of a grassroots tie-dye movement that raised $170,000 for Democratic campaigns during the 2020 election cycle (VOGUE, LATimes). She holds a BFA in Drama from University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a Kenan Scholar in addition to independent studies with Kristin Linklater and Bob Krakower. Hannah is passionate about collaborative, somatic storytelling that empowers women and other underrepresented voices.
